“Only Murders in the Psych Building” Forensics Event

The format will allow students to work, collaborate, and compete as a team to solve a “real-life” mock problem-crime-scenario and dive deeply into understanding and subsequent action with “patient” interviews, exploration of legal frameworks, assembly of scientific data, development of expert analysis, forensic investigations, and useful conclusions, in order to respond to and/or prevent the mock crime and explore the best ways to best handle a difficult and complex scenario using a variety of skills -- science, advocacy, problem solving, collaboration, leadership, and communication, and many others.
